| BODY: This car was originally produced in the desirable 1957
Chevrolet color of Sierra Gold. The car was recently repainted a similar color
receiving a "complete" re-paint including door jams, under trunk, etc. much of the
trim was removed and 1957 Bel Air Side trim was added. Also, other exterior trim
was replaced or polished / re-chromed as deemed necessary to bring the car into
good cosmetic condition. A couple of pieces of chrome are showing some age but it is still very nice.
The paint job is not a high dollar show car job but is presentable. No exterior body rust /chassis rust
(very minor rust in rear tire well area and surface rust noticed in trunk (under mat.see photos)
Floor pans and frame are great. |
ENGINE: 350 cubic inch V8 with approx 60k miles on it. Early Edelbrock aluminum manifold & 4 barrel carburetor (oil filter in stock position). Rebuilt some years ago. Runs great. Strong engine. |
TRANSMISSION: 700 R4 transmission (overdrive) with functional lock up style converter (2200 rpm). Shift quadrant on the dash has been properly re-lettered to indicate the proper gears. Shifts great. |
EXHAUST: Factory manifolds. Dual exhaust with chrome tips. Sounds great. |
| FRONT SUSPENSION: Stock front suspension. Sway bar added. |
| REAR SUSPENSION: Appears to be the stock rear suspension. Sway bar added. |
| BRAKES: Power front disc and rear drum brakes. Brakes work great. |
| INTERIOR: Nice older interior in correct color scheme for Sierra
Gold exterior. Original padded dash with some cracking(rare option!). Original steering wheel & uncut dashboard.
Newer headliner. Excellent door panels. AM/FM radio in glove box (not functional at this time).
|
| TRUNK: There is some minor rust in the spare tire well and some
surface rust as seen in the pics. |
| WHEELS/TIRES: Recently added Cragar SS wheels with Yokohama tires.
Some wear on front tires from vehicle they were previously installed on. Very nice
wheels. |
| OVERALL CONDITION: Great Driver that
won't get you kicked out of the local shows. |
| SUMMARY: While this 1957 Chevrolet is not in the show car category
it does represent an attractive, affordable example that has been well cared for
and nicely upgraded. The paint is in good condition and there is no significant
body damage, dents, or dings. There is a gap on the rear portion of the Bel Air
trim on the left side (rear) of the car and there appears to have been some body
damage (now repaired) to this area at some point in time.
Mechanically, the Chevy needs nothing to be used and enjoyed at this time. The Chevy starts immediately even after sitting for several weeks. True miles unknown. If you have any questions please call me at 925-899-2648. Please remember I am on Pacific Standard Time. |
